Greek yogurt. Yes, we know that it comes in seemingly every entree at a Greek restaurant, but now it also is available through Yoplait (how much easier is it to eat out of a cup instead of scraped out of a pita?). I was excited when I heard this as it gave me hope that their yogurt would be more affordable than the competition, thus allowing me to buy greek yogurt instead of regular yogurt. Why would I want to do that, you ask? For one, it's excellent as a topping for a variety of main dishes since it's thicker. Secondly, the protein content is higher than regular yogurt (because of the different straining process, if I remember right--don't quote me on that!).
Unfortunately, I have been unable to try the Yoplait brand because the stores around me apparently don't carry it yet. Of course. :-\ BUT...that doesn't mean you can't try it for free! Read the info below (provided by MyBlogSpark), and then enter to win a Yoplait Greek yogurt below!
Now with 14 to 17 grams of protein in each cup, the new and improved Yoplait Greek yogurt is a perfect choice for a snack in between meals. Protein is an important component of a healthy diet, serving as a building block for strong muscles and maintaining healthy bones. With twice the protein than regular yogurt** and a thick and creamy texture, the new Yoplait Greek yogurt helps satisfy your hunger - meaning you can feel good about choosing this tasty, fat-free snack.
New Yoplait Greek is available in six delicious flavors like Blueberry, Strawberry, and Peach (each with fruit on the bottom) or Honey Vanilla, Key Lime, and Plain - all with zero percent fat and at least 14 grams!

ReplyDeleteI use yogurt to make Chicken Tikki Masala (I'd give you the recipe, but the yogurt is one of the few items I need to add to the stuff that comes out of a JAR!).
